As most of you might already be aware of, yesterday LG published a lengthy promo video for the LG G3 S which, surprisingly enough, contained bits of information concerning the future of LG’s smartphone line-up. In the video (which has been removed in the meantime) it’s been suggested that LG is currently working on a new smartphone dubbed the “LG G3 Stylus”. As its moniker suggests, this particular device sounds an awful lot like it’s going to be a strong Samsung Galaxy Note 4 competitor, but as it turns out this may not be the case at all.

Now, based on a fresh report and contrary to what the video led us to believe, the LG G3 Stylus might actually shape up to be a mid-range device. Check out the full story below.
The LG G3 Stylus Might Not Target the Galaxy Note 4

According to sources of the Korean Times, while the LG G3 Stylus will sport a 5.5-inch display, the smartphone will suffer from various downgrades when compared with the fully-fledged LG G3. Reportedly, the device will feature a different battery (most likely smaller) and a lower screen resolution (which comes in line with this older report). While the source hasn’t revealed any other concrete hardware specifications, it seems that the LG G3 Stylus will target the mid-range market.

That being said, we could speculate that the Stylus could be inspired by the LG G3 S / Beat, rather than the G3 flagship device. Perhaps the handset will make use of the same Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, just like the LG G3 S, but in the end, the story behind this mysterious device is confusing as it is, so we’ll wait a bit longer before we’ll throw in more data in the mix.

Hopefully we’ll learn more on the device in the foreseeable future, but given the idea that the LG G3 Stylus won’t be a Note 4 competitor, we’re beginning to wonder if the Korean tech giant will release the device within a similar time frame as Samsung’s upcoming phablet, or avoid competition by launching the device a bit later in the year.
