Nokia has had a very strong imaging heritage. The Finnish company gave us some of the best camera phones of all times. The cameras of Nokia devices remained one of the few key differentiating factors of their devices in the recent past and helped them hang tight against the Android and iPhone juggernaut in the smartphone market. One of the prime examples of this is the Nokia Lumia 1020. The device was Nokia’s first Windows Phone smartphone with a massive 41MP camera sensor using its Pureview technology. It’s been over a year now since it launched, and Microsoft is now getting ready to launch its successor before the holiday season. TK Tech News has reported that they have received information from their source claiming that the said device is getting ready for an official launch later this year. It is claimed be quite a bit thinner than the Lumia 1020, on similar lines to the Lumia 830 Pureview smartphone announced at IFA this week. Unfortunately no model number or code name has been leaked yet, but the tech site does claim that they are working on getting more details and could have more to share soon. The Lumia 1020 was a huge improvement over the Pureview 808 as far as overall thickness was concerned. The 808 was ridiculously thick and had a huge camera bump. The 1020’s bump was much less apparent and its successor is said to have an even smaller bump on the back. Being a 2014 device, we expect it to have a significantly larger screen than the Lumia 1020 so it’s nice to know that the bump will be reduced in size. A 5 inch device with a huge camera bump on the back just doesn’t seem like a good idea to us. So thankfully Microsoft has got that covered. We sure hope to find out much more about this upcoming monster cameraphone but the report claims that Microsoft seems to be experiencing some issues with mass production. There are no specific details available though, so we can only hope they can sort it out soon.
