Daytime Sony Xperia Z2 camera samples crawl up

With performance now a long-gone issue, it sure feels like it's all eyes on the camera these days. And with phones like the Sony Xperia Z2 manufacturers are really just scraping the surface of what's possible on an increasingly smaller scale. And you can really see that in these latest photo samples from the Xperia Z2, again shot in Tokyo, but during the day this time around.
Like its predecessor, the Xperia Z1 , the Z2 comes with the same 1/2.3-inch, 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS sensor and G lens. And though that's the exact same hardware you'll find in the previous model, the years have taught us that the software side of the equation is just as important, and, apparently, that's where Sony has focused its efforts this time around, or so does the author of the shots below claim. The source reports an improvement in focus time and overall behavior (the Z1 has some issues with focus). As always, however, we'll wait for a final unit before coming out with any kind of informed verdict, but there's certainly no harm in peeking before game time.
All of these were shot in 4:3 aspect ratio, as to get the highest possible pixel count out of the unit on the back of the Z2 (20.66 megapixels). This means some seriously detailed, but gigantic photos, so load time may vary depending on your connection.
