کمپانی مایکروسافت در یک رویداد مطبوعاتی در کشور آلمان اعلام کرد که تا به امروز بیش از 50 میلیون دستگاه لومیا در سراسر دنیا فعال شده است .این تعداد شامل تمام دستگاه‌های Windows Phone از آغاز سری Lumia به عنوان بخشی از محصولات نوکیا می‌باشد.البته هیچ اطلاعات و صحبتی مبنی بر این که چه تعداد از این 50 میلیون دستگاه Lumia هنوز هم مورد استفاده قرار می‌گیرند در دسترس نیست.
در حالی که این آمار قطعا چشمگیر و قابل توجه است، همچنان خیلی از سایر رقبا عقب‌تر می‌باشد. برای مثال کمپانی اپل به تنهایی 40 میلیون گوشی هوشمند خود را در سه ماه آخر سال وارد بازار کرده است. علاوه بر این، مایکروسافت نشان داد که بیش از 320.000 نرم‌افزار در فروشگاه مجازی Windows Phone در دسترس است که این میزان بالاتر از 300.000 نرم‌افزار در ماه آگوست می‌باشد که در مجموع این میزان همواره کمتر از یک میلیون نرم‌افزار در فروشگاه‌های مجازی App Store و Google Play است.
اولین عضو از خانواده لومیا که تحت برند مایکروسافت عرضه شد، Lumia 535 نام دارد که هفته پیش معرفی گردید.

Over 50 million Lumia devices have been activated to date
Microsoft revealed that there are more than 50 million Lumia devices activated to date. The Redmond-based tech giant revealed the stat during a press event in Germany.
The number includes all Windows Phone products since the inception of the Lumia product range as part of Nokia’s portfolio of devices in 2011. There is no word on how many Lumia devices of those 50 million are still being used.
While 50 million activated devices surely looks and sounds impressive, it sits far behind those achieved by its competitors. Apple for example moved almost 40 million smartphones in the last fiscal quarter alone.
Furthermore, Microsoft revealed that there are more than 320,000 apps available in the Windows Phone Store. The number is up from 300,000 back in August, though significantly below the one million+ apps available in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Once a Nokia staple, the Lumia name is now used in devices with the Microsoft brand. The first member of the new family is the low-end Microsoft Lumia 535, which made its debut last week.
