Firefox OS tablet: image and specs leaked
Mozilla's own Asa Dotzle has leaked the specs of the first tablet powered by Firefox OS. First, a little detail about the device. Manufactured by Foxconn, the slate (codenamed Flatfish) is actually the Infocus New Tab F1. This is a low-end tablet built by the contract manufacturer. Infocus sells its slate online for $150 and Mozilla could try to get these pups to market at a price under $100.The tablet is equipped with a 10.1 inch IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 800. Under the hood is a quad-core 1GHz Allwinner CPU that employs the ARM Cortex A-7, with a PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU. 2GB of RAM is on board along with 32GB of native storage. A microSD slot is included for those desirous of more storage. Back and front-facing snappers weigh in at 5MP and 2MP respectively, and a 7000mAh battery powers the whole kit and kaboodle. With support for 802.11b/g/n, this is a Wi-Fi only slab. The dimensions are 266mm x 170mm x 9.7mm.Dotzler didn't provide any information about a launch date or pricing, but as we said, Mozilla could have a decent business if it can get these slabs priced under $100.
