اولین اسمارت فون های خمیده یا منحنی شکل تاحدودی ناامید کننده ظاهر شده اند. Galaxy Round سامسونگ دارای صفحه نمایشی منحنی شکل اما غیرقابل انعطاف می باشد. LG G Flex نیز از یک صفحه نمایش قابل انعطاف بهره می برد که میزان قابل انطاف بودن صفحه نمایش بسیار کم است. اما خبرهایی منتشر شده که نشان میدهد G Flex 2 ممکن است یه اسمارت فون قابل انعطاف واقعی باشد.
براساس یک گزارش جدید، ال جی ممکن است درحال کار برروی نسخه جدیدی از اسمارت فون G Flex باشد که بطور کامل قابلیت خم شدن را دارد. ظاهرا این دستگاه قابلیت خم شدن تا ۹۰ درجه را دارد. بطور تئوری، این قابلیت بسیار خوبی است که مانع شکسته شدن صفحه نمایش در صورت خم شدن می شود. خبرها حکایت از آن دارند که G Flex 2 ال جی در سال ۲۰۱۴ معرفی و عرضه میشود. به نظر می رسد که ال جی بدنبال معرفی و عرضه نسخه دوم از این اسمارت فون قبل از معرفی نسخه دوم Galaxy Round سامسونگ است.

LG G Flex 2 could bend up to 90 degrees
The first couple curved display devices to hit the market have been somewhat disappointing. Samsung's Galaxy Round offers curved glass with no flexibility, and nothing really interesting about it. The LG G Flex has a flexible display and slightly flexibly glass, but again nothing really interesting overall with the device. But, there is a new rumor about the G Flex 2 that gets a bit closer.
According to a new report, LG may be working on a follow-up to the G Flex that will be fully bendable, not just a bit flexible. Supposedly, the next G Flex will be able to bend a full 90 degrees. It really does sound like LG is trying to get to the point where a full touchscreen device can be a clamshell. It's baby steps right now. Unfortunately, we're not sure if bending 90 degrees will really add much. Theoretically, it could mean the glass would be less prone to break, which would be very nice, but as far as functionality from being able to bend the device that much, we'll have to see if manufacturers can show us something impressive.
Word has it that the G Flex 2 (assuming that's the name) will be released sometime in 2014. No word on exactly when, but apparently the aim is to have it on the market before Samsung releases its follow-up to the Galaxy Round.
